Synopsis

Nick is Billy's best friend from college. Kate is Billy's ex-girlfriend, perhaps the only woman he ever truly loved, although he didn't know how to express it. Tonight, they celebrate Nick and Kate's engagement with the help of Courtney, Billy's roguish and vitriolic date. In one night, these three old friends and one wildcard reopen all their old wounds and make some fresh new ones.

Over the course of the party, Kate will hear Billy's confessions of love, Nick will have his head turned by Courtney, Billy will try to overcome his scorn of just about everything and, ultimately, get a beating. The first of Mike Hayden's plays, Imperfect People was the beginning of his signature style and the origin of our company.
