Synopsis

Jeffrey is a lost young man. He loves his mother but can't stand watching her spirit be squelched by his domineering, terminally ill father. James, Jeffrey's younger brother, relies on him for guidance while Jeffrey can barely make his own way in the world. On his way to Boston to visit his oldest and only friends Eddie and Jack, he meets Lucy, an unassuming girl who immediately captures his heart and disappears. Later, attempting to have a fun night out with Eddie and Jack in Long Island, Jeffrey snaps when he's taunted by childhood bully Victor. Soon after, his father dies and Jeffrey is in dire need of a change.

To get his head straight, Jeffrey visits his aunt Sophie in France. He meets the willing Aude, sees the sights, travels across Europe and feels unfulfilled by all of it. Calling Lucy is fruitless. At last, a visit to Anna, a German prostitute in Amsterdam, gives him the cathartic experience he needed and didn't know he was looking for.
